The Sabelt Silver LPM 6 Point Harness, part number 2170068, is a clip-in 6-point competition harness approved to FIA 8853-2016. Shoulder and lap webbing are 2 inch. Aircraft-type buckle. HANS specific. Available in black, blue and red.
LPM stands for Le Mans Prototype. This harness is built to the specific geometry and release requirements of LMP-class prototype cars, where the driver sits in a reclined position at very low height in the cockpit and harness release must be operable both by the driver and by marshals during an extraction. The buckle position, strap routing and release geometry in LMP cars differ from saloon or formula installations.
Silver series designation means the webbing and hardware are Silver tier. In an LMP car, Silver webbing combined with the LMP-specific buckle assembly is the standard competition configuration. The higher price compared to the Silver Endurance (210A622SD2F, £389) reflects the more specialised buckle geometry and the LMP-specific installation configuration.
At £784 this is not a saloon harness at a premium price; the specification is genuinely different from the saloon endurance products. If you are not running an LMP-class prototype and are looking for a Silver 6-point with an aircraft buckle for endurance use, the Silver Endurance at £389 is the correct choice. The LPM is for prototype cockpits specifically.
